Centers of excellence

CESTA

The Center for Strategic Analysis of the SAS, the Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Strategies of the Company, acronym CESTA, was the Center of Excellence of the SAS, which was established by the SAS Presidium on August 4, 2011.

The Institute of Experimental Psychology SAS was a partner institution of the main holder of the Center, which was the Institute for Forecasting of SAS.
The main goal of the whole project was to develop research of strategic decision-making on the theoretical, experimental and empirical levels. The Institute of Experimental Psychology SAS, as well as its partner institution, the Institute of Applied Psychology at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University, focused on the psychological dimensions of strategic individual and team decision-making. The results were used in the development of decision-making training, the creation of expert teams; in specific areas of forecasting, environmental development, security, etc.

CEVKOG

The Institute of Experimental Psychology was the holder of the Centre of Excellence in the Research of Cognition CEVKOG in 2007 – 2010. The Centre focused on the intensive research of higher cognitive functions as thinking, problem solving, decision making, intelligence, creativity and wisdom.

Head of the Centre was Professor Imrich Ruisel.

The Institute of Experimental Psychology was the main holder of the Centre of Excellence.

Partner institutions were: Institute of Social Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Košice, Faculty of Arts of the Comenius University in Bratislava, Faculty of Social Sciences and Health Care of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Faculty of Management of the University of Prešov in Prešov, Research Institute for Child Psychology and Pathopsychology in Bratislava.

Knowledge obtained through CEVKOG was published within the monograph:

CEVIT

The Institute of Experimental Psychology was the main holder of the Centre of Excellence in the Research of Intelligence and Creativity CEVIT in 2003 – 2006. The Centre’s activity was focused on the concentrated research of personality regulators of intelligence and creativity in different social and cultural conditions.

Knowledge obtained through the Centre’s activity was to some extent published within the following monographs:
