Centre of Excellence


CESTA

The Centre of Strategic Analyses SASc., the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research and Strategies of Society, acronym CESTA, was a Centre of Excellence of SASc. established by the Presidium of the Slovak Academy of Sciences on 4th August 2011 for the period of four years between 2011 – 2015.

The Institute of Experimental Psychology SASc. operated as partner for the main bearer of the Centre that is the Institute for Forecasting SASc.

The main goal of the project was the research of strategic decision making on a theoretical, experimental and empiric level. The Institute of Experimental Psychology SASc., as well as its partner the Institute of Applied Psychology of the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Comenius University, focused on psychological dimensions of individual and group strategic decision making. Results can be applied to design training programs for decision making, expert team building, in specific fields of forecasting, environmental development, security, and such.

CEVKOG

The Institute of Experimental Psychology was the holder of the Centre of Excellence in the Research of Cognition CEVKOG for the period of four years, 2007 – 2010. The Centre was focused on the intensive research of higher cognitive functions as thinking, problem solving, decision making, intelligence, creativity and wisdom.

Head of the Centre was Professor Imrich Ruisel.

The Institute of Experimental Psychology was the main holder of the Centre of Excellence. Partner institutions are: Institute of Social Sciences of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Košice, Faculty of Arts of the Comenius University in Bratislava, Faculty of Social Sciences and Health Care of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Faculty of Management of the University of Prešov in Prešov, Research Institute for Child Psychology and Pathopsychology in Bratislava.

The Slovak Academy of Sciences began establishing Centres of Excellence in 2003 to unite workers from different institutions (academic, applied research, industrial) into functional units with a coherent research project focusing on a common field of research

CEVIT

The Institute of Experimental Psychology was the main holder of the Centre of Excellence in the Research of Intelligence and Creativity CEVIT in 2003 – 2006. The Centre’s activity was focused on the concentrated research o f personality regulators of intelligence and creativity in different social and cultural conditions.
